Liquid lipsticks are one of the loves of my life, besides false eyelashes and chicken nuggets.
My collection includes Kylie lipkits, MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquers, NYX Liquid Suedes and many more; so when I heard that Barry M were bringing out a lipkit range that is similar to Kylie’s, I was overjoyed. I went to a local Boots store last weekend and decided to pick myself up one of their ‘Matte Me Up Lip Kits.’ They had two shades to choose from but the shade POSE particularly stood out to me.
The lip kit contains a lip liner and a liquid lipstick.
The lip liner is such a creamy formula that applies beautifully to the lips. It isn’t hard to apply, it doesn’t drag across the lips and it isn’t drying either. It’s really hydrating and so long lasting, my lips remained outlined all day!
As for the liquid lipstick itself, it is just as good as Kylie’s. The formula of the lipstick is very thin which means it is build-able and comfortable to wear on the lips. It is a matte lipstick which means it can be slightly drying but it did not feel it at all if you colour your lips in with the lip liner first. I wore my lip kit all day last Tuesday for a 10-5 assessment and it even survived lunch. I topped up once throughout the day but that was all; so it lasts at least 4 hours without needing to be topped up.
The shade POSE has a slight ombre look; the liquid lipstick is slightly lighter than the lip liner which I love because it adds so much dimension to the lips. It makes the lips look bigger and fuller, without the lip fillers! You can buy the ‘Matte Me Up Lip Kits’ from Boots & Superdrugin store and online for £6.99.
Finding a liquid lipstick that lasts all day, doesn’t sink into your lip lines or creases and isn’t drying can be really difficult but luckily this bad boy has fitted into that category, for only a fraction of the price for what I think it’s worth! The formula of these could pass for a high end brand such as Anastasia Beverly Hills so for only £6.99 I am over the moon to welcome POSE into my liquid lipstick family.
