Is there anything better than having your hair washed, dryed and styled for you? No, absolutely nothing. I can honestly say I’ve not had my hair washed, dryed and styled for me in years, not since I went to the hairdressers in high school.
On Saturday morning I went into Benedict Hairdressers in Luton, Bedfordshire for my first blowdry. I was super excited when I walked into the salon that morning because I was off to London in the afternoon to shoot some outfits for my instagram and blog – so the fact I was going to have my hair professionally done was exciting.
When I walked into the salon I was greeted with a friendly face on reception with a lovely modern reception area. My coat was taken from me and hung up in the cloakroom and I was offered a hot or cold drink to have during my treatments (which always makes me feel at home.)
The salon had a monochrome effect which felt modern and cool with a beautiful display of products on the wall. The products were all organised into their treatment areas, i.e. coloured hair, damaged hair, etc which made it very easy to spot products to try. The huge sofa made the short wait for my appointment comfortable and it had the perfect view of some magazines to read along with some bronze, silver and gold plans you can buy to make your hair treatments luxurious.
Once my stylist Farah was ready for my consolation I was taken over to a chair in the salon so we could chat about the condition of my hair and what I wanted to resolve.
We came to the conclusion that I was going to have a treatment to hydrate my dry ends but not my oily roots – as well as preventing frizz from my natural curls. I had no idea you could have shampoos that could fix multiple problems in one solution! I just assumed you had to use different shampoos!
I went over to the wash basins and have a lovely girl called Nicki wash my hair and I couldn’t help but tell her how amazing her eyeshadow looked! She was so lovely to chat to and made me feel very relaxed and comfortable.
After both sets of shampoo Nicki sprayed my hair with the treatment and massaged that into my hair which I could have easily fallen asleep while having because it really was relaxing.
I was then taken into a private room of the salon which is quieter and allows more one to one time with the stylist and client. It’s also a nice place for business women to work in peace whilst have their hair done – a great idea from the salon. Farah began with putting some mousse into the roots of my hair to give it some volume and then she began to dry my hair.
We had such a lovely chat whilst I was having my hair done, my blogging, family, school and great places in London to take photos and have lunch! I felt so at home and I plain on going back as often as I can to have my hair done!
I don’t know how Farah managed to dry my hair so sleek but curl the ends. My hair was so bouncy, sleek, shiny and just looked incredible!
When I style my own hair I either have dead straight sleek hair or big curly hair so it was amazing to have the best of both worlds! My hair has never felt in such good condition and I had one of those sassy moments walking out of the salon because I felt so good!
Once my hair was finished the girls had set up a ring light for me to take some selfies of my hair and we had some fun doing boomerangs for instagram stories!
I’d never felt so welcome in a salon and all the girls were wonderful. I’ve already booked in my next blowdry and I can see myself doing this on a regular basis.
If you’re in the Bedfordshire area and looking for an affordable salon that is modern, friendly and fabulous then head down to Benedict Hairdressing and say that Danie sent you!
