Having pearly white teeth is something that is desired by many people. That might just be my personal opinion, but having nice teeth really does boost your confidence.
I’ve always had trouble with my teeth. I had too many teeth growing through my gums when I was younger so I had to have a few teeth taken out, I had braces for around 2-3 years until I was 17 and since then, I’ve still not been overly happy with my teeth. They’ve never had that pearly white smile despite trying lots of different teeth whitening products.
Around 3-4 weeks ago, I was reached out to by the lovely social media team at Carbon Cocoto see whether I wanted to preview their black charcoal powder and toothpaste – instantly, I agreed. Any chance to find a product that actually works, I’ll take! I believe they are based in Australia but do ship worldwide as far as I’m aware.
The product I was sent out to review was the called the Ultimate Carbon Kit;it comes with a pot of charcoal powder, toothpaste and toothbrush (which has extremely soft bristles) which retails for $89.95 (but is currently on SALE for $44.95).
The process works by damping the toothbrush with some water and dipping it into the powder. Shake off any excess (over the sink because the charcoal can go everywhere and make a mark, which is washable, if you don’t) and roughly brush the powder all over your teeth for a minute. Then, rinse off your brush and proceed to brush your teeth, as normal, with the toothpaste.
The activated charcoal works to remove external stains on your teeth without any toxic chemicals which you can find in commercial toothpastes you see advertised. The toothpaste aims to keep your mouth clean and reduces cavities, gum disease and bad breath.
If you want my honest opinion, it has taken some time for me to notice a difference in my teeth. I wouldn’t say they are whiter, but they do look a little healthier and have a bit more of a glow. I have really enjoyed using the products though – they leave my breath smelling nice and it clearly has made a difference for me to notice it. However, you would probably have to stick to this routine for a good few months for it to start whitening your teeth.
